Webinar offers economic insights and forecast for recovery

On June 25, MARC provided a webinar for local officials about the economic issues the region faces and the needs resulting from the economic crisis.

Donna Ginther, professor of economics and director of the Institute for Policy & Social Research at KU, spoke about the impact of the twin pandemic and economic crises on communities.

Jim MacDonald, chief community impact officer with the United Way of Greater Kansas City, shared insights on the needs and challenges from the perspective of social services using 211 data.

Frank Lenk, MARC’s director of Research Services, prepared forecasts of how our economy is doing, how long the recovery might take and what industries and occupations might be most affected over the next 2-3 years.
